Art at The Paramount

If you have time during your visit, take a walk around and explore our art collection, a growing and changing reflection of our city. Most prominent is the photography in our guestrooms and corridors by local artist Gary Wilson. This unique collection features the bridges that span the Willamette River in Portland. With 70 different images, you will likely have different photos in your room on your next visit. In addition, images in each of our corridors highlight a specific bridge, with many of them showing the very interesting and rarely phtographed inner working so the bridge. Tables on each landing were crafted by students of the former Oregon College of Art & Craft and reflect their interpretation of the bridge on that floor.

Guestrooms + Corridors

Gary Wilson is a native Portlander who has been a professional photographer all his adult life. He says that the light and atmosphere of the city and its rivers has been his primary inspiration. He feels privileged during the course of making his living to be witness to Portland's many visual treasures, in particular the predawn fog and play of light on the Willamette and the shapes of its bridges.
